Mr. Vassilis Dalacouras serves as the Managing Director of Dalex since 2008. Mr. V. Dalacouras has a 21 year executive, commercial and operations experience in the shipping industry. He joined the company in 1996 as a vessel’s Operator and has also held the positions of Operations Manager and Chartering Manager. He also serves as President of a ship holding company that owns a fleet of 13 very modern handy size bulk carriers. Mr. V. Dalacouras is a Representative Member of the Union of Greek Shipowners Board of Directors and a Member of the Executive Committee of Malta International Shipowners Association. He holds a BA in Economics from Mc Gill University, Canada and an MSc in Shipping, Trade & Finance from City University of London, UK.
Mr. Michalis Dalacouras serves as a Director of Dalex. Mr. M. Dalacouras has a 16 year executive, technical and operations experience in the shipping industry. He joined the company as an Engineer and holds also the position of Chief Technology Officer. Mr. M. Dalacouras is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers – FCIS, a Member of the Board of Directors of HELMEPA, as well as a Member of the Board of Governors of International Propeller Club, Port of Piraeus. He holds a BEng in Mechanical Engineering and a MEng in Mechanical Engineering from Mc Gill University, Canada.
Mr. Panagiotis Bessis has served as General Manager of Dalex since 1985. Mr. Bessis has a 46 years shipping experience in executive, commercial and technical management. He joined the company in 1972 as an on-board Engineer and has also held the positions of Superintendent Engineer and Technical Manager. Prior to joining Dalex he has served as an on-board Engineer for Georgopoulos-Athanasiadis Shipping Company. Mr. Bessis is a Member of the Technical Committee of Bureau Veritas. He holds a Diploma in Marine Engineering.
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Yiannis Matheos joined Dalex in July 2014 as Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Matheos has 29 years shipping experience in executive, commercial and operations management. Prior to joining Dalex he has served as Operations and Chartering Manager of Marcan Shipping Ltd in London, as Chief Executive Officer of P.G. Pateras Shipping, as a Chartering Broker at Angelakos Hellas and as a Project Manager at The Veritas Group (Hellas) Ltd. Mr. Matheos has also worked as an independent Charter Broker and Shipping Consultant in the management and acquisition of shipping ventures and projects. He holds a BSc in Finance from St. John’s University of New York.
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Nikolaos Panteloukas joined Dalex in January 2009 as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Panteloukas has 27 years shipping experience in financial management and accounting. Prior to joining Dalex, he has served for 15 years at Chandris (Hellas) Inc. holding the positions of Financial Accountant and Financial Reporting Officer and for 5 year at DAO Shipping Ltd, a member of the Ray Car Carriers Group, holding the position of the Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Panteloukas serves a Member of the Hellenic Chamber of Economics. He holds a BA in Accounting, from University of Athens.
Mr. Konstantinos Verginas joined Dalex in September 2014 as Superintendent Engineer and since August 2016 he holds the position of the company’s Technical Manager. Mr. Verginas has 13 years shipping experience in marine engineering and technical management. Prior to joining Dalex he has served as an on-board Engineer, as a Superintendent Engineer for Entrust Marine and as a Fleet Manager for Navios Shipmanagement Inc. Mr. Verginas is a Member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA) in United Kingdom and a Member of the Technical Chamber of Greece. He holds a Diploma in Marine Engineering from Aspropyrgos Technical Education Institute in Greece, a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from University of Paisley in Scotland, UK and an MSc in Marine Technology from Universities of Strathclyde & Glasgow, UK.
Group Financial Controller & Corporate Development Officer
Mr. Lampros Katsakioris joined Dalex in June 2014 as Group Financial Controller and also holds the position of Corporate Development Officer. Mr. Katsakioris has 9 years experience in financial controlling, corporate financial reporting and finance function advisory. Prior to joining Dalex he has served as a project manager in the advisory department of PwC (Greece) dealing with complex corporate reporting and corporate restructuring projects, mainly in the shipping industry. Mr. Katsakioris is a Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in United Kingdom and a Member of the Hellenic Chamber of Economics. He holds a BSc in Business Administration from University of Piraeus, an MSc in Business Management from Heriot-Watt University of Edinburg and the ACCA Qualification.
