Mr. Vassilis Dalacouras serves as the Managing Director of Dalex since 2008. Mr. V. Dalacouras has a 23-year executive, commercial and operational experience in the shipping industry. He joined the company in 1996 as an Operator and held also the positions of Operations Manager and Chartering Manager. He also serves as the President of a ship holding company that owns a fleet of 13 very modern handy size bulk carriers. Mr. V. Dalacouras is a Representative Member of the Union of Greek Shipowners Board of Directors and a Member of the Executive Committee of Malta International Shipowners Association. He holds a BA in Economics from Mc Gill University in Canada and an MSc in Shipping, Trade & Finance from City University of London.
Mr. Michalis Dalacouras serves as a Director of Dalex. Mr. M. Dalacouras has a 18-year executive, technical and operational experience in the shipping industry. He joined the company as an Engineer and serves also as the company’s Chief Technology Officer. Mr. M. Dalacouras is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers – FCIS, a Member of the Board of Directors of HELMEPA, as well as a Member of the Board of Governors of International Propeller Club, Port of Piraeus. He holds a BEng in Mechanical Engineering and a MEng in Mechanical Engineering from Mc Gill University in Canada.
Mr. Panagiotis Bessis serves as General Manager of Dalex since 1985. Mr. Bessis has a 48 years shipping experience in executive, commercial and technical management. He joined the company in 1972 as an on-board Engineer and held also the positions of Superintendent Engineer and Technical Manager. Prior to joining Dalex he has served as an on-board Engineer for Georgopoulos-Athanasiadis Shipping Company. Mr. Bessis is a Member of the Technical Committee of Bureau Veritas. He holds a Diploma in Marine Engineering.
Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Mr. Yiannis Matheos joined Dalex in July 2014 as COO. Mr. Matheos has 29 years shipping experience in executive, commercial and operational management. Prior to joining Dalex he has served as Operations and Chartering Manager of Marcan Shipping Ltd in London, as Chief Executive Officer of P.G. Pateras Shipping, as a Chartering Broker at Angelakos Hellas and as a Project Manager at The Veritas Group (Hellas) Ltd. Mr. Matheos has also worked as an independent Charter Broker and Shipping Consultant in the management and acquisition of shipping ventures and projects. He holds a BSc in Finance from St. John’s University of New York.
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Mr. Lampros Katsakioris joined Dalex in June 2014 as Group Financial Controller and Corporate Development Officer. Since December 2018 he serves as the company’s CFO. Mr. Katsakioris has 11 years experience in financial management, financial controlling, corporate financial reporting and finance function advisory. Prior to joining Dalex he served as a project manager in the advisory department of PwC in Greece, dealing with complex corporate reporting and corporate restructuring projects mainly in the shipping industry. Mr. Katsakioris is a Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a Member of the Hellenic Chamber of Economics. He holds a BSc in Business Administration from University of Piraeus and an MSc in Business Management from Heriot-Watt University of Edinburgh.
Mr. Konstantinos Verginas joined Dalex in September 2014 as Superintendent Engineer. Since August 2016 he serves as the company’s Technical Manager. Mr. Verginas has 15 years shipping experience in marine engineering and technical management. Prior to joining Dalex he has served as an on-board Engineer, as a Superintendent Engineer for Entrust Marine and as a Fleet Manager for Navios Shipmanagement Inc. Mr. Verginas is a Member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA) and a Member of the Technical Chamber of Greece. He holds a Diploma in Marine Engineering from Aspropyrgos Technical Education Institute in Greece, a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from University of Paisley in Scotland, and an MSc in Marine Technology from Universities of Strathclyde & Glasgow in Scotland.
Head of Accounting
Mr. Nikolaos Panteloukas joined Dalex in January 2009 and serves as the company’s Head of Accounting function. Mr. Panteloukas has 29 years shipping experience in financial management and accounting. Prior to joining Dalex, he has served for 15 years at Chandris (Hellas) Inc. as Accountant and as Financial Reporting Officer and for 5 year at DAO Shipping Ltd (a member of the Ray Car Carriers Group) as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Panteloukas is a Member of the Hellenic Chamber of Economics. He holds a BA in Accounting from University of Athens.
Crewing Manager and Chief Procurement Officer (CPO)
Mr Theodoros Bessis joined Dalex as an engineer in 1999. He has 19 years of executive, technical, crewing, commercial experience in the shipping industry. He holds a BS in Shipping Management & a Diploma in Marine Engineering from Aspropyrgos Technical Education Institute in Greece.
